Hello Midlife Mama Friends,

Thank you for visiting my blog. I’m not going to lie, I am new to this blog stuff but, even more so, I am not a very good writer. Please forgive my grammar as my grammar stinks.

Let me start by introducing myself, my name is Kelly and I am the mother of four children, two biological and two step. I have one child that recently graduated from college, two in college, and one in high school. I was divorced twelve years ago and I am very fortunate to be married to a wonderful husband and an amazing dad. I will talk more about them later.

I got the idea of starting this blog after struggling with midlife motherhood and step motherhood, and feeling alone in my struggles. Many times “I thought to myself, how great it be to have open conversations with other midlife moms who are struggling with the same issues and/or who have already been through it and have great advice to share.”

I feel like, as moms, we always have to put on a happy face and silently drown in our struggles. By the time our kids hit high school we have become pros at hiding our struggles and making the world believe that “all is good”. For some reason it is not acceptable to allow other people, especially other moms, know that we need help. However, after opening up to other moms, who seem to have it all together, did I start to realize that they are silently struggling too.

I feel that this site can be used as a platform for support and advice, and a place for candid discussions without fear of judgement. This is a place for all midlife moms who are struggling in mom hood, especially with our high school, college, and newly adulting children.

So let’s start some discussions, throw out some questions, ask for advice, or just simply introduce yourself. I hope that this site will develop and grow as other midlife moms start to share.

I thank you all for being a part of this site and remember we can all do anything with a little help from our friends, especially our MIDLIFE MAMA FRIENDS.
